Please Pray For Us

We normally like to share happy thoughts and things of inspiration but we also want to be real. While you studied your bible you surely have come across this quite often so you will be familiar with this at least in scripture. We have to acknowledge that the devil is real. Africa has a dark side, and to be more specific, Uganda suffers from this and this is where we are. We know the devil is busy in this place and he is able to use a lot of people. We pray about this quite often because it is real. Unless we have read about this someplace before, or follow scripture and really take it seriously, and not just pass over the words, most of us would not think it was so prevalent. Many people in this culture are into witchcraft and there are even some that even though they may be a “saved born again Christian,” they may still hang onto some of those traditional beliefs. For one reason it is part of many cultures to “hang onto your culture.”

There was a NIV “Adventure Bible For Kids”, that I was reading today, and I think it put it best; they have these neat little boxes of explanation inset on every few pages. It said; “Can Demons really possess people?” Mark 5:18 Demons are real, and they can control people’s lives and make them do evil things. We should have nothing to do with demons -even pretend demons shown in some movies. The movies people make about demons leave out one important fact: even thousands of demons cannot stand against Jesus. When we invite Jesus into our lives, he protects us. Mark 5:18-20 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

I heard one pastor put it this way; “If you don’t believe there is a devil, then just start a ministry”. It is so true, and we have noticed it over these past few years since our beginning. The more a ministry works for God and grows, the more the devil fights it because he hates it and he can’t stand it. From time to time we have been in spiritual warfare, and as of recent he is striking again and we request your prayers. We don’t really need to go into any details, it is just we have learned to recognize it and it is not the situation so much as the problem, but who is behind it, the devil. We know we will overcome because we do trust in Jesus and the power of prayer. It has been confirmed that we are on the right track in doing God’s work, and this we will continue to do. Because as it said above, even thousands of demons cannot stand against Jesus!
So we do have happy news, Jesus is our Savior and Protector! Please say an extra prayer for us and for God’s will to be done.

PS. There is something interesting that I just noticed. This blog entry will follow the posting by Jessica, when she wrote about all the good that is being done by this ministry. I would like to turn Satan's efforts into compelling us to praise God all the more!
